CTUSAB says divestment of the Transport Board not an option.

The General Secretary of the Congress of Trade Unions and Staff Associations of Barbados , Dennis DePeiza is warning that government’s proposed divestment of public transport should not be an option.

Speaking this morning during a news conference at CTUSAB’s headquarters Mr. Depeiza says Barbadians are already struggling with unreliable and unregulated PSV service where privately run minibuses operate.

He insists that government has a responsibility to subsidize and maintain a regulated island wide service even if it is not profitable.
