Nelson Street building destroyed in fire

An unoccupied building, formerly a bar, has been destroyed by fire at Nelson Street, St. Michael.

Station Officer Roger Bourne says they received a call around 9:36 a.m. and responded with three water tenders.

The wall structure was an abandoned building, no other infrastructure was damaged, and no one was injured.

When Starcom Network News visited the scene people were on the neighboring roof trying to extinguish the fire and Station Officer Bourne, said swift action was taken to save a car parked nearby.
