13-year-old Shawnaton Chase, a student of the Lodge School, is Barbados’ latest homicide victim, and his death has left relatives, friends and the Silver Hill, Christ Church community in shock.
Reports indicate multiple shots were fired near the hard court in the area around 8 pm last night, and in the aftermath, Chase, an innocent bystander, was found lying on the ground meters away.
Starcom Network News spoke to father Shawn Chase earlier this morning on his arrival home from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where his son was pronounced dead after being transported there by private motor car.
One resident in the area also spoke to Starcom Network about the ordeal and said it was shocking.
Requesting that his name be withheld, that resident said he had a message for young men in Barbados.
