This country’s rental car operators have written government over the announced ten dollar per day tax on hired cars which they say will make them the highest taxed sector in the country.

Managing Director of Drive-A-Matic Car Rentals, Aldo Ho-Kong-King, tells Starcom Network News, that the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association has reached out to government on the matter on behalf of the car rental companies which fall within the Direct Tourism Services division of the BHTA.

Mr. Ho-Kong-King also agrees with the comments of Independent Senator, Andrew Mallalieu, who said in the Senate that increased taxes will drive more of the rental car operators underground.
