The police are on the hunt for three men who have staged at least two home invasions at properties in St. Philip over the past week, one of the victims being a close relative of one of Barbados’ leading entertainers.
Starcom Network News has confirmed that about a week ago, three men at least one of whom was armed with a gun, burglarized a home at Oldbury, St. Philip, holding a female resident and her boyfriend at gunpoint.
Reports circulating on social media which Starcom sources indicate contain some facts of the case indicate that the couple was tied up and robbed and the male was also beaten and taken to an ATM to withdraw a sum of cash.
Starcom Network News also understands that over the weekend there was a similar occurrence at a home at Seaview, St. Philip where the residents were bound with duct tape and robbed of their cash.
A resident familiar with at least one of the cases describes the event as merciless, heartbreaking and deeply traumatic.
They have urged the public to be vigilant.
