Anguilla elected their first-ever female head of government, when Cora Richardson-Hodge led the main opposition, Anguilla United Front, to a convincing victory in yesterday’s general election.

The AUF won eight of the 11 seats at the stake in the Parliament with the outgoing Anguilla Progressive Movement headed by Premier Dr. Ellis Webster, winning the other three seats.

Mrs. Richardson-Hodge told Starcom Network that she has modelled her career after Barbados’ Prime Minister, Mia Mottley and used her as an inspiration to fight a tough campaign.

Meanwhile, former Hampshire County cricketer, Cardigan Connor is her deputy.

He told Starcom Network that he is still celebrating.
