Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) Barbados and the Barbados Workers Union (BWU), long at loggerheads, have reached agreement on new terms and conditions for staff of the fast food chain.

The deal is said to include a number of improvements that have been applauded by staff, some of whom were at the BWU’s headquarters, Solidarity House, for this morning’s announcement.

The deal includes a guaranteed 40-hour work week and a nine percent salary increase.

BWU Deputy Director of Industrial Relations Kamisha Benjamin thanked the workers present for their commitment during the issues since 2022 and outlined key aspects of the agreement.

A long time KFC staff member told Starcom Network she’s extremely happy about the changes.

The agreement concludes a three-year negotiation, which was often marked by the union taking the issues public via social media.
