Suspects are in custody for a recent string of armed robberies including one at Paynes Bay, St. James that has left residents there concerned about the spate of crime.
Sources tell Starcom Network News that the men who robbed a woman at Paynes Bay early last Tuesday morning are believed to be the same group that robbed more than a half dozen people, several of them early morning joggers, in the Holders Hill and Redman’s Village areas last week.
The Paynes Bay incident was captured by a security camera and the video has been making the rounds on social media.
The viral video shows a woman standing in front of a minimart when she was approached by a group of men and was violently attacked and robbed. At least one of the men had a gun.
When Starcom Network News visited the area, one of the residents recalled hearing the cries of the victim who was on her way to a gym when she was attacked.
Another resident wants to a see a neighborhood watch set up in that community.
