The Barbados Police Service now has an armored vehicle to help in its crime fight.

Well-placed sources confirm that the armored vehicle arrived in the island this week for the use of the police.

Those sources explained that the police sometimes conduct very dangerous operations and have been fired on in some cases.

They said the armored vehicle will help to ensure the safety of officers when carrying out their duties.

Special police units in countries such as the USA as well as in countries closer to home such as Jamaica have for many years been using such armored vehicles.
