Consumers will get some relief at the pump as petroleum prices have been reduced for the first time in over a year.
The prices of gasoline, diesel and kerosene were last adjusted on September 13, 2023.
Effective midnight Friday, December 13th, gasoline will now cost three dollars and 88 cents per litre, a decrease of 34 cents, while diesel will go down by 15 cents and be sold at three dollars and 47 cents per litre.
Kerosene will cost one dollar and 26 cents per litre, a reduction of 74 cents.
In a statement, the government reaffirmed its commitment to protecting consumers. It noted that should international petroleum prices rise, the existing price cap will remain in place to shield consumers from sharp increases.
