29 charges for accused serial car thief

An alleged serial car thief has been slapped with 29 charges and remanded to Dodds Prison after appearing in court today.

Forty six-year-old Richard Alleyne of no fixed place of abode is accused of a multitude of offences, 19 of them being separate charges for car theft committed over five months.

His other charges are theft of registration number plates belonging to Fredrick Adams between 27th August and 16th September, wounding of Elvis Gaskin on 26th June, criminal damage of a motor car –belonging to Camara Reece on 31st August, criminal damage of a motor car belonging to Carol-Ann Prescod on the 6th and 7th of September and criminal damage of a motor car belonging to Nicholas Reifer between the 11th and 17th of September.

He also racked up several charges for fraudulent use of number plates, failure to stop at the sound of a siren, driving with no license or insurance and reckless driving on September 28th.

Alleyne appeared before Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes in the District ‘A’ Magistrate’s Court today, where he pleaded guilty to the District ‘A’ matters.

He has been remanded to Dodds Prison and is scheduled to reappear in other jurisdictions to answer the remaining charges.
