Concern over school threats

The police have been called in and President of the Barbados Union of Teachers, Rudy Lovell, tells Starcom Network News he’s very concerned after a number of schools received threats over the past few days.

The latest incident occurred this morning, when a threat was emailed to a Christ Church Primary School.

Education Officials tell Starcom Network News that the usual protocols were followed including contacting the police and conducting various checks, however, classes resumed.

Mr. Lovell tells Starcom Network News such threats are worrying.

The threats also worry the Chief Education Officer, Dr. Archer-Bradshaw, who says she has been in contact with the Police Commissioner on the matter.
