Starcom Network News understands that a woman has been hospitalized and her alleged attacker taken into police custody after a stabbing at 1st Avenue, Goodland, St. Michael last night.

The police are said to have received a report about 8:25 p.m. that a stabbing had occurred and responded to the location where they found a 40 year old female lying on the road with a stab wound to her stomach.

She was aided by residents until an ambulance arrived.

The stabbing victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The extent of her injury is unknown.

The male alleged assailant, a 29 year old Jamaican national, was later located by the police and arrested.

He remains in police custody.
