Heavy rainfall over the last several weeks has significantly affected food crop production that has led to a shortage of some local produce on the shelves of some supermarkets.
Owner of Philips Trading and Farming Services Junior Phillips tells Starcom Network News a number of fields which produce crops such as sweet potatoes and tomatoes, have been waterlogged, cutting off farmers’ access.
Meantime General Manager of Hill Milling and Hill Supermarket Gayhart Ashby confirmed the shortage stressing that he hasn’t seen some locally produced items in months.
