Two mpox cases in B’dos this year/none active now, says Health Ministry

The Ministry of Health and Wellness says a statement being circulated about a case of mpox is not current, but confirms there have two cases this year, none currently active.

Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Arthur Phillips, has pointed out that the circulated information came from a statement made by a former Minister of Health two years ago.

Dr. Phillips notes that vaccines are not necessary at this time for Barbados
