Relatives/friends mourn crash victims

Close relatives of crash victim, Jamal Ramsay, are today grieving over his death as neighbors described him as a polite young man but noted his run-ins with the law and lamented the path he was on.

The 35-year-old, who lived at Browne’s Gap, Sargeant’s Village, Christ Church, died sometime after ten o’clock last night from injuries he suffered when the motorcycle he was riding was involved in a collision with an unmarked police vehicle yesterday afternoon.

The passenger on the motorbike, 22-year-old Tishana Ward, died at the scene.

The police have not confirmed whether there was a police chase leading up to the crash, but Starcom Network News understands that Ramsay was a person of interest and had been questioned by police in relation to a recent shooting death involving high-powered weapons.

In June he had pleaded guilty to possession of an illegal gun and ammunition and was due to be sentenced next month.

When Starcom Network News visited Ramsay’s residence today his visibly distraught parents declined comment, however, neighbours told us that they had seen him only yesterday playing with his dogs.

They noted that Ramsay had run-ins with the law and said they wish he had turned his life around.

She and another neighbor said that he had been, in their words, a nice young man growing up, but that his life had taken an unfortunate turn for the worse.
