Fugitive surrenders after seeing wanted notice

A wanted man has surrendered to police after yesterday discovering via social media that he was being sought.

The police yesterday issued wanted notices for four men including 42 year Jason Alexander alias “Tall Man”, whose last known address was Trents, St. James.

The notice said he was wanted in connection with serious criminal matters and advised him to present himself to the Criminal Investigations Department accompanied by a lawyer.

But to the amusement of many on social media, when the police social media notice was reposted on the Instagram page of a media house the accused actually responded in the comments sections with these words: “I wanted, wana making sport”.

Several members of the public then weighed in with their own hilarious reactions including: “I just laughed til I cry, I never saw a wanted man replying to police” and “I’m crying, my boy didn’t know he wanted” as well as “I swear I live on a circus, not an island”.

The police confirm that the accused did subsequently contact them directly and had agreed to turn himself in.

This afternoon the police announced that he turned himself in today and is in custody.
