Teenaged gunshot victim succumbs

A teenaged gunshot victim has died almost exactly a week after he was shot in the face at Meadow Road, St. Michael.

Meantime, reports indicate that there may be suspects in custody.

Seventeen-year-old, Takori Wilkinson, who lived at Princess Royal Avenue, Pine, St. Michael was liming with other young men and women at the Wildey Pavilion at Meadow Road, when an assailant shot him at point blank range.

Takori’s adopted grandmother, Louise Brathwaite, tells Starcom Network News that he passed away about one o’clock this morning and that the news has hit the family hard.

She notes that Takori was supposed to have started a class in masonry yesterday but his life was taken before he was able to commence training at the government Skills Training Department.

Ms. Brathwaite says Takori was accosted by about five young men during the incident during which he was shot.

She understands that at least two of the alleged assailants, some of whom are reportedly under the age of 15, may already be in custody.
