A pedestrian was struck by a car and seriously injured at Prince Alfred Street in Bridgetown this afternoon.

Passersby gathered at the scene angrily expressing their concern over the circumstances of the accident as they alleged that the victim was on the sidewalk when he was struck.

The incident happened just after 2 pm.

An eyewitness spoke to Starcom Network News at the scene.

The accident victim was transported to hospital by ambulance.
