National pause a stand against violence, says the government

Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley has declared that today’s national pause for reflection is intended to signal the country’s collective stand against violence.

She was speaking outside the National Botanical Gardens during the Junior Kadooment parade which had earlier paused at noon to observe the five minutes of reflection which Miss Mottley had called for in response to a surge in gun violence.

Also speaking to Starcom Network News while attending Junior Kadooment, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Responsible for Culture, Senator Dr. Shantal Munro-Knight highlighted the significance of the national pause.

The Minister also praised the creativity on display during the Junior Kadooment.
