Govt appeals to BWA customers to pay their bills

The Barbados Water Authority is said to be struggling financially because some customers aren’t paying their bills, forcing the agency to continue to rely on state support.

This has been disclosed by Minister in the office of the Prime Minister, Dr. Shantal Monro-Knight who was introducing in the Senate a resolution to facilitate a 12.4 million dollar loan for the BWA.

She says the loan, along with a 40 million US dollar grant will be used to co-finance a number of water related projects.

She issued an appeal.
