Female stabbing victim identified

The victim in yesterday’s fatal stabbing in St. Philip has been identified as 20 year old Joanna Branch of Hopewell, Christ Church.

She was stabbed several times in an alleged knife attack by another female at Work Hall yesterday afternoon.

The alleged perpetrator was taken into custody.

Residents of Workhall St. Philip are in shock and mourning after a community member was fatally stabbed there last evening.

Starcom Network News understands that the victim was found dead in a pool of blood at that location having allegedly been stabbed by another woman.

Assistant Superintendent in charge of operations in the Southern Division, Carolyn Blackman Alleyne, told journalists the incident occurred around 3:30pm.

Meantime some residents told Starcom Network News that the victim who they said was about 19 years old, was also pregnant.

One resident said she has been left in disbelief.

Other residents said the deceased often kept to herself.

This was Barbados’ 26 homicide for the year.
