The Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association confirms that hotel bookings have been given a boost by the ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup.
CEO of the BHTA, Ryan Forde, appearing on VOB’s Mason and Guest program, was asked by the host Andrew Mason about the visitor numbers for the tournament.
Mr. Forde says the heavier bookings are for the periods involving the bigger games but notes that during those times, occupancies at some properties are as high as 80 percent.
He notes this is significantly higher than what is normal for this time of the year.
