Officials from the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency, CDEMA are urging the region to be prepared for upcoming severe weather as scientists forecast this year will be an extremely active one.
Speaking this morning during a news briefing on the region’s preparedness for the hurricane season, CDEMA’s Executive Director, Elizabeth Riley said of the 23 named storms predicted, five are forecasted to be major hurricanes.
She stressed the importance of being prepared.
