QEH patient rescued from roof at Spry Street

A hospital patient had to be rescued from the roof of a building at Spry Street in Bridgetown this morning.

The Barbados Fire Service said it received a call around thirteen minutes past six of a man on the roof of Sisters Bar in the city.

Fire officers from the Bridgetown and Arch Hall Fire Stations responded and rescued the Queen Elizabeth Hospital patient.

An eyewitness recounted the ordeal to Starcom Network News.

Meantime, taxi driver Dwight Alleyne who was also in the area says he is disappointed with the response time of the police.

Communications Specialist at the QEH, Shane Sealy, said the individual did leave the hospital against the advice of the medical team and was later returned to the hospital by the police.
