Two Supreme Court Justices of Appeal have been sworn in.

They are Madam Justice Jacqueline Cornelius Thorne and Mr Justice William Chandler.

They were sworn in at the State House by President Dame Sandra Mason.

Justice Thorne hopes that the Supreme Court will be able to realise its goal of zero backlog in cases.

Meantime Justice Chandler has appealed to petitioners in cases to agree to settlements that contribute to the backlog.
