Police destroy seized/handed in guns

One hundred and ninety-three firearms were destroyed by the Barbados Police Service at the Central Police Station earlier today.

Sargeant Liesl Gabriel of the police Communications and Public Affairs Department said 80 of the firearms were recovered from court cases or brought in by civilians, and 113 were brought in by the Barbados Defense Force.

She added that local officers will be trained to destroy guns by UN representatives.
