The Barbados Fire Service had been this afternoon battling more than a dozen grass fires across at least three parishes but mostly in Christ Church.

Fire officer, Glyne Alleyne, tells Starcom Network News that were about five fires in Christ Church alone.

He advised people with conditions that might be affected by the smoke to take precautions.
