An online article purporting to feature two prominent Barbadian businessmen and a well-known journalist has been condemned as a scam and a hoax by those involved.
The article purported to present an investment opportunity, but in a statement today, the individuals named seek to make it clear they are in no way connected to the post.
The clear the air statement says that the recent appearance on digital media of an article allegedly penned by Emmanuel Joseph, regarding something called Trade 600 Maxair, featuring Ralph “Bizzy” Williams being interviewed by Vic Fernandes is bogus and fraudulent.
It adds that none of the aforementioned people has any connection to, ever discussed or know anything about this supposed investment opportunity.
The statement on behalf of the individuals says that while their initial reaction was to ignore it in the belief that Barbadians would not fall for yet another scam, it has become apparent that some people assume the article to be legitimate and this, therefore has prompted them to issue a formal statement.
According to the statement, the photos of Mr. Williams and Mr. Fernandes were taken from a video interview on a media platform and juxtaposed within the bogus article in an attempt to give it credibility.
The parties say that while they are doing all in their power to have the article taken down, the public is advised that none of the people mentioned has any connection whatsoever to it.
