Home Affairs Minister Wilfred Abrahams has ordered an investigation into the circumstances under which a fire officer was injured and a fire tender destroyed in a fire in a cane field at Locus Hall, St. George this morning.

The destroyed fire truck, though one of the older ones in the fleet, has a replacement value of about 1.2 million dollars.

The Home Affairs Minister Wilfred Abrahams stressed that his first concern is for the welfare of the fire officers involved in the incident but says the matter will be investigated.
