A gun man has escaped with an estimated three thousand dollars in cash in an armed robbery late Saturday afternoon at a St. Philip business place.

Starcom Network News understands that just after 5 P.M. an assailant armed with a shot gun staged an aggravated robbery at the Royal Chinese Restaurant at Groves Road, Six Roads, St Philip.

This is the second armed robbery at a business place in recent days.

It follows the aggravated burglary at a St. George supermarket in which staff and patrons were held at gunpoint.

Police made quick progress in that case with four suspects being taken into custody and a gun and cash being recovered.

Meantime, Starcom Network News has also learned of two other armed robberies that took place sometime after 11 PM on Friday night targeting businesses in St. Philip, one at Four Roads and the other at Marchfield.

Both are grilling establishments.

In both cases, the assailant was a single male armed with a gun.

Based on the description, it appears that the same individual may have been involved in both robberies.
