The Child Care Board has seen an increase in child abuse cases being reported.

Minister of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs, Kirk Humphrey says close to 500 child abuse cases have been reported between April last year and February this year.

He was speaking during a news conference this morning to mark Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month.

Meantime Director of the Child Care Board, Rose-Ann Richards, is concerned about the length of time it’s taking the court to deal with child abuse cases.
