Combermere School has done the double at the Barbados Secondary Schools Athletic Championship winning both the boys and girls divisions before a sold-out crowd at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex.
It’s the first time the school has captured either the boys or girls championship in more than two decades and almost 30 years since they last did the double.
Michael Small, the head of the school’s Physical Education Department, while standing alongside Jarrad Murray the team coach and physical education teacher, described the triumph as a surreal experience.
