Controversial Digicel Tower to be Removed

The contentious Digicel cell tower at Olive Lodge Road, St. James will be removed.
This is according to chairperson of the executive committee that was formed by residents to address the matter, Dr. Jennifer Alleyne.
The government had already disclosed that no permission was given for the tower to be situated in the area, and the residents had made it clear that they would protest if it was not removed. On Wednesday, the MP for the area chastised the action of the telecommunications company, stating that they owe Barbados an apology for their actions.
Dr. Alleyne said the Chief Executive Officer of Digicel, Natalie Abrahams informed her that the tower will be removed by March 20th.

She says this proves what could happen when communities stand united.
