A reported altercation between two cousins has left one man dead and another in police custody.

The police say they received the report of the stabbing at the Goose Bar located at at Melrose, St. Thomas just before 3 pm.

The deceased was identified by family members as 23-year-old Renario Junior Taylor of Melrose, St. Thomas. He was stabbed in the upper chest.

The alleged assailant is a 20-year-old male from Belleplaine, St. Andrew.

Both men went to the Eunice Gibson Polyclinic at Warrens, St. Michael where the victim died while receiving treatment.

His attacker is in police custody.
