Staff at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus are on strike demanding a pay hike and were this morning picketing the compound vowing to keep up the protest until their demands are met.
General Secretary of the Barbados Workers Union, Toni Moore, who joined the Cave Hill staff in their protest march insisted they would not back down.
She told reporters the Cave Hill Staff has been promised the money will be paid today but insists they will remain on strike until that actually happens.
She outlined the issues that triggered the strike, the main one being an expectation that the university staff be given the same increase granted to government workers.
