A lone robber was only able to escape with just over twenty dollars when he tried to rob the Rubis Petrol Station at Kendall Hill, Christ Church in the early hours of this morning.
Sources tell Starcom Network News that it was sometime after 3am when a man approached an attendant at the petrol station, demanded that they hand over the money and then he ran away.
However, Starcom understands that the gas station heist netted the bandit just 23 dollars and change.
This follows the theft of thousands of dollars from a safe at a Rubis Petrol Station in St. John on Thursday night and an attempted robbery at the SOL Top Rock service station, early Friday morning where a man snatched the cash register and ran away but later dropped it.
The would-be robber then ran away empty handed.
As this morning’s incident at Kendal Hill came to light, customers at the petrol station voiced their concern over that and the other incidents and called for increased security at such business places but also for a tougher overall approach to crime.
One customer even saw the need for security guards at gas stations to be armed.
