Starcom Network News can confirm that a 27-year-old St. Philip man has been charged in connection with a knife incident that prompted the temporary closure of the St. Philip Polyclinic.
Sources tell Starcom Network News that the alleged perpetrator has been charged for three offenses arising out of the incident at the Polyclinic.
The weapon used in the alleged attack was recovered.
Starcom understands that the accused is scheduled to appear at the St. Matthias Magistrates Court on Tuesday, January 23rd to answer the charges.
A nurse was allegedly threatened with a knife and the incident resulted in organisations representing nurses demanding increased security at medical facilities including metal detectors.
