Barbados health officials consider a new COVID variant spreading overseas as a matter of interest but not a major concern at this time.
Acting Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Arthur Phillips believes the JN.1 variant will eventually reach Barbados and advises the public to take appropriate precautions.
He gives the assurance that vaccines are available for those interested in being immunized.
