An 81-year-old man from St. Michael is homeless after his house was destroyed by fire this morning.
According to reports from the Bridgetown Fire Service, they received a call about 8:45 am of a timber and wall house on fire at St. Stephen’s Black Rock St. Michael.
Mr A. Pollard who lives alone was in the house when the fire started.
His neighbour carried him out of the house to safety.
Two fire tenders and nine officers responded under the command of Divisional Officer Wayne Vaughn and Station Officer Roger Bourne. The house next door received minimal damage to the window.
