A 20-year-old Black Rock man is Barbados’ latest hero after rescuing his 81-year-old neighbour from a burning house.
At about 8: 45 am the Bridgetown Fire Service received a call about a house on fire in the area.
Two fire tenders and nine officers responded under the command of Divisional Officer Wayne Vaughn and Station Officer Roger Bourne.
The house belonging to Mr. A. Pollard was engulfed in flames when the fire service arrived but luckily Tyrese Chase who lives a few houses up from the elderly man had already rushed in and carried out his neighbour.
He says he was alerted about the fire at about 8:30 in the morning.
