Insurers Worried About PSV Behaviour/Plan to Meet Owners

Local insurance companies believe that too many route taxi and minibus drivers continue to engage in reckless behavior even putting passengers lives at risk and plan to meet with the owners about it.

President of the General Insurance Association of Barbados Randy Graham was responding to a complaint by a spokesman for the sector about the difficulty in getting and the high cost of insurance for the sector.

Mr. Graham says insurance companies have not blacklisted the sector, but have major concerns.

Mr. Graham wants to see tighter regulation of and enhanced criteria for the hiring of drivers.
