400 Elder Care Workers to Get Permanency

The government is in the process of making the positions of over 400 elderly care workers permanent soon.

This has been revealed by the Minister of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs Kirk Humphrey, on the sidelines of an opening ceremony of the renovated Lancaster House in St. James.  Lancaster House is a home for elderly people with disabilities.

He says during the pandemic hundreds of people were employed to care of the elderly but they were not given the benefits of permanent staff.
