Assault Rifle Seized in Million Dollar Drug Haul

A Christ Church woman has been remanded on narcotics and firearm charges reportedly involving about a million dollars in drugs, an assault rifle and more than 350 bullets.

According a news release from the police service, officers from the Anti-Gun and Gangs Unit raided the woman’s residence last Friday and seized the items.

Thirty eight year old Sabrina Atherley of Apartment Number 4, Vauxhall Gardens, Christ Church has been charged with possession of a firearm, ammunition, cannabis and cocaine as well with trafficking the illegal drugs.

According to a Nation News report from the courts, the accused is an employee of a state agency, the value of the illegal drugs is about a million Barbados dollars and the weapon found at her residence is an AR 15 rifle. Three hundred and 74 bullets were also said to have been found at the residence.

The accused appeared before Magistrate McKenna of the Oistins Magistrate’s Court yesterday and was remanded to Dodds Prison until her next court appearance on November 9th.
