Several individuals today received the keys to their new homes as government officially opened its newest housing estate.
The National Housing Corporation opened Alleyne’s Court in Whitepark Road, St. Michael, which will provide homes for 20 families.
This is the first housing estate opened by the current government, and consists of 5 quadraplexes.
Speaking during the opening ceremony, Minister of Housing, Lands, and maintenance, Dwight Sutherland, highlighted the ministry’s plans to make home ownership a reality for all through its rent-to-own programme.
The estate has been named in honor of former General Manager at the NHC, the late Garvey Alleyne, for his many contributions to the housing sector.
