The Barbados Union of Teachers is complaining about what it says is a continual last-minute shifting of teachers across the school system.
The union says this is affecting both primary and secondary schools.
BUT President Rudy Lovell notes the disruption caused by the last minute notification of the reassignment of twelve principals and 17 deputy principals at the start of the school term.
He says this approach is draconian.
Mr. Lovell says that the union is seeking a meeting with the authorities on the matter.
The union also opposes school heads being placed on contract.
