Man Electrocuted at Salters, St. George

A 46 year old man has been electrocuted at Salters, St. George, the second man to be electrocuted in a freak accident in the past two weeks.

Starcom Network News understands that the man, a general worker at Glacial Pure Ice Company located at Salters, was assisting with construction work underway at the facility.

He had only started work at the company on Monday.

The Inspector Glenda Carter-Nicholls who is responsible for District B Station says the station received a report of the incident at 11 40 am.

She noted the man was helping to guide a metal road that was being hoisted by a crane when the rod touched a power line.

Two weeks ago a man picking breadfruits at Long Gap, Spooners Hill, St. Michael was electrocuted when the rod he was using came into contact with a high-tension wire.
