A meteor has been identified as the object that burned up in the sky above Barbados last night causing a spectacular light display that amazed onlookers here and elsewhere across the Caribbean.
President of the Barbados Astronomical Society, David Marshall, tells Starcom Network News, that when the video was carefully reviewed, the characteristics of the object indicated it was not a satellite burning up but a meteor which is piece of space rock or metal.
Onlookers recounted the experience. Some were amazed but for others it created a scare.
