Government Senator, Gregory Nicholls, believes the pension age for parliamentarians should be raised to around 60 or 65 to more closely align with that of ordinary citizens.
Senator Nicholls, a member of the Constitution Reform Commission, was speaking on VOB’s Down to Brasstacks program.
Also speaking on the Down to Brasstacks program Democratic Labour Party General Secretary, Steve Blackett, suggested that not only should the pension age for MPs be raised but that the salaries for government ministers should be cut.
Mr. Blackett argued that, in his opinion, the Barbados cabinet is overpaid given what he considers to be their lack of results.
But Senator Nicholls immediately hit back.
Government Senator Gregory Nicholls.
