Senior attorneys in Barbados admitted to the Inner Bar can nolonger use the King’s Counsel designation.
Under new orders published today, September 1st, in the Official Gazette of Parliament, the senior attorneys are now required to use the designation Senior Counsel, S.C.
Senior attorneys in Barbados had been referred to as Queen’s Counsel while Britain’s Queen Elizabeth reigned and adopted K.C. after her passing and King Charles became the Monarch.
But with the British monarch nolonger being head of state of Barbados, the change of designation has been mandated for attorneys in this Republic.
